Sweety Ngcobo from Etwatwa (Ekurhuleni) is a 25 year old virgin who says she want to stay focused on her goals and and remain a virgin until she's 35 years.



She want to stay focused on her books rather than having great time.

The second year tourism student said she want better life and the only way she can get it is to focus on her books, not men.

She said she made it to 25 years still a virgin and she do not see why she will not reach 35 years still a virgin.

Sweety said she decided at an early age to not be involved in sexual relationships and that had helped her from experiencing problems like all women in her age.

She added that peer pressure is something that she doesn't experience as she is doing something she loves. She says this is her personal decision and she would advise that young girls should stay away from sexual activities and focus on their studies.

She is also a part of an organization (Ndabazane) that encourages girls to stay pure as virgins and also under Etwatwa virgin group.

She says that her mother Dimakatso(46) is her first supporter.

"As a single mother it is always good when your child listens to you", said her mother.

" The girl are tested regularly and rituals are made to cleanse the whole group if it happens that one of them is found to have lost her virginity" said co-ordinator of the Etwatwa virgin group Johanna Mthethwa.

She said they consider it as bad luck if one girl sleeps with a man and that man must buy a goat.
